So, PMLogic is a B Corp... what does that mean?

Updated: Sep 23

You may have seen this logo floating around our website and socials recently:

'Certified B Corporation'... But what is it, and what does it mean for you?

What is a B Corp?

B Corp, short for ‘Benefit Corporation’, refers to a type of for-profit company that places a strong emphasis on its social and environmental impact, in addition to generating profits.

B Corps aim to balance financial success with positive contributions to society and the planet. This concept emerged as a response to traditional business models that prioritised profit above all else, often at the expense of people and the environment. Unfortunately, there are many examples of these organisations, where a single-minded focus on profits have done harm to their employees, other stakeholders and our planet.

So... what does it mean for PMLogic to be a B Corp?

As a B Corp, PMLogic has committed to meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. This means we walk the walk everyday in proving that we are a benefits-driven, outward-looking organisation: we are legally structured to consider the interests of not only shareholders but also other stakeholders, including employees, communities, and the environment

PMLogic has undergone a rigorous assessment by an independent organization called B Lab to verify our commitment to social and environmental goals, the results of which are available on the B Corp site for all to see. Check us out here!

Why is sustainability important?

  • Sustainability refers to the responsible use of resources and practices that aim to meet present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

  • Focusing on sustainability is crucial because it addresses pressing global issues such as climate change, resource depletion, and social inequalities.

  • Sustainable business practices can lead to cost savings, brand loyalty, and a competitive advantage in the market, making them increasingly important for long-term business success.

As a Certified B Corp, how can PMLogic better support our customer needs?

  • PMLogic prioritises quality, ethical sourcing, and transparency in our products and services. This benefits customers who value these aspects.

  • We offer services that are environmentally friendly, socially responsible, or produced using fair labour practices. We find this is appealing to customers with sustainability and ethical concerns.

  • We have written books and supported the development of frameworks and methods such as the most practiced project management method PRINCE2® 7 by embedding sustainability as core elements.

  • We help all our customers learn and use methods, frameworks and books to improve their sustainability practices.

  • PMLogic’s team frequently engage with local communities, we volunteer to support professional associations such as the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) and not-for-profit organisations such as The Smith Family.

  • We support charitable initiatives such as planting trees to ensure we are carbon neutral and education services at School for Life, fostering positive brand perception and customer trust.

  • The rigorous B Corp certification process ensures that PMLogic as a B Corp maintains a consistent commitment to these values, assuring our customers of our genuine dedication to sustainability and social responsibility.

In conclusion, PMLogic B Corp is a business that integrates social and environmental goals into our core operations. Our focus on sustainability is crucial in addressing global challenges and can better support customer needs compared to non-B Corp companies by providing products and services with a strong emphasis on ethics, quality, and sustainability.
